A: You can choose a physician who meets your criteria, or, if you want to choose a specific hospital or physician group, you need to first choose a physician who is associated with that hospital or group. While you can communicate directly with your physician, patients will not have direct access to the hospitals and physician groups (unless they provide a direct phone number or email).
    +
    5. What information do I need to provide?

Images can even be stored anonymously, without your identifiers. Then you can give anybody who has an account on MedPics access to view your medical images.
    +
    7. Are my files secure on MedPics and how long will they be stored?

Images are stored for 7 years, but you may also delete your images at any time yourself.
    +
    8. How do I communicate with the imaging expert?
A: MedPics allows you to communicate with experts through an internal messaging system. Medical imaging experts may prefer to communicate with you an external communication platform, such as through email or Skype. As the patient, you may request a written report from your expert sent to you either through MedPics’ internal messaging system or an external communication platform, such as email or Skype.
    +
    9. How much does an imaging consultation cost?

Who are the Medical Imaging Experts who would do the final reads (TP)?
A: You may choose as your TP from Single Physician Imaging Experts, Group Practices of Imaging Experts or Hospitals with a department of Imaging Experts who are registered and verified on MedPics.
    +
Does MedPics provide Malpractice insurance for the Imaging Experts?

How does the Imaging Expert receive the images from the Sender?
A: Our MedPics team will set up a Gateway at the Sender’s location that facilitates the transfer of studies to the PC or PACS of the reading Imaging Expert. The exam can be read on the local PC or PACS, or using the FDA approved web-based viewer available on MedPics. We can also recommend FDA approved software for use on a PC.

How is the final report being delivered to the sender of the images?
A: The final read can be delivered through the MedPics report system/text editor. This needs to be worked out down the road so that it is much smoother and electronic, preferably through a RIS or EMR.

What is the difference between contacting a Single Physician Imaging Expert versus a Group Practice of Imaging Experts or a Hospital with a Department of Imaging Experts?
A: The Single Physician Imaging Expert will read all of the studies, while the Group Practice or the Hospital will determine who will read the studies in their own reader collective.
