It’s a war-like situation in health care facilities. The enemy is invisible to the naked eye. It is a real challenge to decide, whether to go or avoid a health care facility when the most important survival step is staying home.

You may have a pre-scheduled surgery. But can you postpone it? Let’s have a look at which surgery can be delayed without compromising your health status.

1. Plastic Surgery-Botox Treatment and Fillers

If you want to look younger by some feature making surgery or botox treatments, it can be suspended after consultation with your doctor. You can stay bald for a few more days and get your hair transplant when it is safe.

But plastic surgery doesn’t only deal with aesthetics. Some reconstruction surgeries or burn management surgeries also come under the domain of plastic surgery. These surgeries should only be delayed after the doctor’s advice.

2. Dental Surgery

If you are having severe pain and pus formation in your jaw, this is surely an indication of going to the dentist immediately. But if you want a teeth whitening treatment or a ceramic veneer for a perfect smile, you should consider your priorities again.

A dentist's office is one of the most dangerous health care setups as they directly deal with the oral cavity. Additionally, contaminated fumes remain in the air even after hours of a procedure. So unless it is “a real dental emergency”, you should call your dentist before visiting.

3. General Surgery

Is it a benign lump? Can it wait? There is an overwhelming number of COVID-19 patients coming to hospitals. As a result, they are dealing almost only with emergency procedures. Therefore, every renowned authority has issued a guideline on what to operate and what to delay in the pandemic days.

One of the reasons is that in the postoperative period, your body is utilizing energy for the healing phase. If COVID-19 attacks, your body immunity will already be on the thinner side.

4. Eye Surgery

You can wear those glasses for a little more time. After all, you have been doing this all your life. So, you can have vision correction procedures after a while. Talk to your ophthalmologist in detail about the possibilities.

The Bottom Line

The benefit to risk ratio must be calculated before going under the knife, especially these day. A post-Surgery patient cannot withstand the attacks of this lethal virus, whose favorite victim is an immune-compromised individual.
