Taking Care of Your Skin for The Ultimate Glow

When was the last time you took a long and hard look at how you take care of your skin? Do you even know your skin type? What are some of the best products to use on your skin? All these are questions a person who knows how to take care of their skins should have an immediate answer. Not saying that you don’t take care of your skin, but knowing your skin makes it easier to maintain a perfect glow.

Start by knowing your skin type

This is the basis of taking care of your skin. Knowing your skin type gives you a level base of what products to use, what is right for your skin, what sets your skin on fire, what calms it down and much more.

Using the wrong products or the famous internet hacks for the wrong skin type ends up worsening dryness, acne and other skin problems. With good knowledge of your skin type, choosing the right cosmetics is easier and safer for your skin.

Establish a skincare routine

Getting a daily skincare routine in place helps you maintain optimal skin health and improve on specific concerns on a daily basis. A daily skincare routine can be broken down into four:

  • Cleaning – get a cleanser for your skin type that won’t leave your skin tight after cleaning. Clean your face once a day if you have dry skin but no more than twice.
  • Moisturize – even oily skin types require a moisturizer. Use a lightweight, gel-based moisturizer that doesn’t block the skin pores. Cream-based moisturizers are best for dry skin.
  • Serums – chose a serum with growth factors, peptides or vitamin C in the morning under sunscreen. At night, use prescription retinoids or retinol for the best results.
  • Sunscreen – Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before going out to give it time to activate.

Remember to choose your skin products based on your skin type and sensitivity. You can get help from an esthetician through telemedicine and get to know the best way to take care of your skin.

For all skin types, stay hydrated for starters and change pillowcases at least once a week. Wrap up or wash your hair when sleeping and avoid your hair touching the face during the day. Some of the hair products are detrimental for your skin.

When taking care of your skin, start small and with a simple routine then see how your skin reacts. After that, add additional products such as masks, spot treatments and exfoliates for optimal skin health.
