The Future of Regenerative Medicine in Surgery

Regenerative medicine has had a huge impact in treating plenty of injuries and chronic injuries ever since it was discovered. It has also been extensively used in cell therapy to ensure patients recover on time for maximum health benefits.

Stem cells have been used in regenerative medicine to ensure that the body heals, augmentation occurs, and organs and tissues are protected. They have also been used to ensure that healthy cells have been generated to replace the cells that have been damaged.

Despite regenerative medicine's current success, what do the future prospects look like? Below is what the Future of regenerative medicine may look like;

Regenerative Medicine Will Be Used in Drug Development

Disease models will be created with the use of stem cells. The models will significantly help in understanding the various mechanisms of how diseases affect the human body when they do, and how they can be treated in the human body.

Many diseases can create a modeled form of modified cells. Diseases include diabetes, kidney diseases, and Alzheimer's disease.

Stem cells can be obtained from patients with specific health ailments, and researchers can study the cellular processes involved in disease transmissions in the body. By studying them, they understand the disease better and develop the right drugs.

Regenerative Medicine Will Be Used in Better Tissue Engineering

By using stem cells, better tissue engineering will be achieved in that the stem cells will act as a source where cells will be obtained. The cells will then form 3D organs and tissues necessary for body functions.

Through tissue engineering, lab-made organs and tissues will be used in transplantations during surgery. This process will reduce patients' need and time to look for donors.

It will provide better outcomes for patients in need of organ transplantation and their immunity. Targeted tissue-engineered organs include the heart and the liver.

Regenerative Medicine Will Be Used in Conjunction with Artificial Intelligence

In the Future, regenerative medicine will be combined with AI in diagnosing and treating patients' ailments. AI will also be used in tissue regeneration of desired organs needed for transplantations.

Regenerative medicine with AI will also use patients’ data in drug administration procedures to heal patients.

In conclusion, despite regenerative medicine currently having plenty of uses, its Future is bright. Not only will tissue engineering be boosted, but also AI will be incorporated for maximum disease treatment.
