Nicotinamide riboside, or niagen, is an alternative form of vitamin B3. Supplements, tablets, and capsules of Nicotinamide Riboside are available to restore the youth and reverse the signs of aging. However, nutritionists also claim the presence of NR in multiple natural resources. These natural resources contain a considerable amount of NR, which prevents aging. The natural products which contain NR are listed below.

1. Fish

Fish is the most popular seafood feasted all over the world. Different kinds of fish contain different amounts of NAD+. Tuna, Sardines, and Salmon are known to provide a very high amount of NAD+. Nutritional studies show an amount of 20.5 mg and 10.1 mg of NAD+ in Tuna and Salmon, respectively.

2. Beer

Beer is known as the most common exhaustion-killer around the world. A drink of beer after a tiring day uplifts mood and drains fatigue. Studies show that beer contains yeast. Yeast is known as a source of NAD+.

3. Crimini mushroom

Mushrooms contribute to adding more flavor to the dinner table. Known as an ingredient of many dishes, it is known to contain 3.3 mg of NAD+ in every cup.

4. Chicken

Grilled, fried, roasted, or stewed, chicken is the most highly prioritized bird because of its taste. This delicious bird contains 9.1 mg NAD+.

5. Yeast

Baking is incomplete without yeast. Bread and cakes won’t rise to fluffy soft texture unless yeast is added. Unlike other foods, yeast contains NR, which is a direct source of NAD+.

6. Green vegetables

Green vegetables are forever loved for the nutrients they provide. One more reason to make them a part of your daily routine is the amount of NAD+ they contain. Peas contain 3.2 mg, while asparagus contains 2 mg NAD+ per cup.

7. Dairy milk

Milk is known for its various effects, especially on bones. The University of Lowa conducted a research in which they concluded that one liter of cow milk contains 3.9 micromoles of NR.

8. Whole grains

Different varieties of whole grains are generally part of a common diet. They contain an adequate amount of NR, which is a precursor of NAD+. However, it should be noted that whole grains lose their vitamin power when over-cooked. Thus, consuming raw whole grains is preferred.

9. Unsweetened cereals

Fortified cereals are better than the sweetened ones. Prefer unsweetened cereals in breakfast with cow milk to boost your NAD+ levels.

10.Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds

Peanuts and sunflower seeds contain an ample amount of NAD+. They prove to be the natural sources of restoring youth. It is better to take them raw instead of roasting or cooking them.

At a young age, the level of NAD+ is very high in the human body, and therefore the physical and mental activity of the body is also at its best. However, when you age, NAD+ declines and has some effects on your body’s external and internal features.

External features such as wrinkles, saggy skin, and loss of freshness are observed in the absence of NAD+. Whereas, internal features such as inactive brain cells, inefficient mitochondrial activity, increased risk of cardiac and neurological diseases are also found if its levels are low.

The aforementioned foods contain an adequate amount of NR or NAD+. Including them in the diet will not only delay the process of aging but also give help you age in a healthier way enabling you to have an extended life span.
