Want to remain in shape and afraid to go to the gym? The fear of COVID has entirely changed our routine life. Now the “normal” has a newer definition. But it shouldn’t be an excuse for stopping your exercise.

Exercise is a stress reliever- a most demanded attribute of the time. Not going to the gym because of COVID is an understandable obstacle. Humid environments of gyms are harboring places for microbes.

Here are 5 possible ways that can help you to remain in shape during this uncertain period.

1. Go outside If You Can

Go outside, if possible, following all the guidelines specified by your government. You can jog in a park, on a beach, or a track strictly obeying the social distancing. If you have a dog, that’s great. Walk your dog.

Going outside in this stressful period will boost your energy and morale. But never break the rules and guidelines.

2. Plan an Activity with People Living With You

You can do an activity or game with people you are quarantined with. Play a physical game or have fun with exercise. Have a push-up championship. Improvise in every way you can.

3. Use Exercise Apps

There are plenty of apps available for home exercise. Download what suits you or ask for recommendations. Make full use of technology. These apps have customized features that can be adjusted according to your weight, height, and BMI. These apps give you reminders and all the records of your previous sessions so you can evaluate your performance.

4. Order Mini-Exercise Equipments Online

You can order a jumping rope or an exercise ball. There are several such mini pieces of equipment available online which give high output. If you are a fitness freak, your Facebook timeline must be “flooded” with such ads.

5. Online Fitness Training

Many gym trainers are providing online fitness sessions. This practice was already gaining popularity before this pandemic. This virus has made this "a training of choice" these days.

The Bottom Line

Although the lockdown has affected our lives massively, we have to find ways to cope with it unless we reach a proper solution.

A sedentary lifestyle can make you out of shape and depressed.

Physical activity can be a great help in the reduction of stress and anxiety.

So modify your routine, add exercise to it, and eat healthily. This is the only way this difficult time is going to pass.
